daily ui 001 — join the wave 🌊

for our first entry in the daily ui challenge, we created a mobile sign-up screen

designed specifically for iphone 14. the prompt was simple — “sign up” — but we wanted to explore how thoughtful design can transform a basic form into a welcoming, branded experience.

we began with a purpose: a volunteer sign-up for a beach cleanup. from there, the visual language followed naturally. smooth waveforms in layered blues flow across the top of the screen, creating a calm and inviting entry point. a rising sun adds warmth and optimism.

the form itself is clean and minimal: name, email, location, availability. everything is placed within a vertically stacked auto layout to ensure consistent spacing and padding. fields are easy to tap, with generous margins and subtle drop shadows for depth.

the call-to-action button — “sign me up!!!” — is friendly and approachable, styled in a rounded purple shape that stands out without overpowering. and tucked in the bottom corner, a simple hand-drawn crab adds personality and charm, reminding users that signing up to help can also be lighthearted.

we designed this for iphone 14 resolution, keeping usability and visual harmony at the forefront. every element is responsive, readable, and purposeful — balancing form and function.

this piece was built entirely in figma using native tools, custom svg work, and a careful eye for layout detail. it’s a great example of how even a small screen can tell a big story.
